Saturday saw the Greenie alumnus and Asheville native graduate to the very highest level of professional football, signing an undrafted free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Coach Alexander has built winning programs and taught, mentored, and coached adolescent boys into men of character everywhere he has been in 29 years with this as a foundation, from large public schools to small independent schools.

Luc is a 6-foot-1, 250-pound lineman from Fredericksburg, Va. 

Christ School athletics lost a legend with the recent passing of James Lewis Martin ’57, better known to his classmates as “Jim.”

Jim was a charter member of the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997 and the first NFL player in school history. He briefly played with the Cleveland Browns before serving his country in the U.S. Army for three and a half years.

Christ School’s seniors walked off the field as winners in their final high school game on November 22.

There are now three Greenies who have committed to colleges since that epic 26-25 overtime win over Asheville School the week before Thanksgiving. 

Team captain Finley Sullivan ’25 talked about the ups and downs of college recruiting in his Senior Speech last month. 

Wednesday was the apex - Finley signed to play football for VMI on National Signing Day. 

Still flying high after Friday, Christ School football has placed three players on this year's NCISAA Division I all-state team.

Jackson’s first touch of the extra time was a 10-yard run that he broke out wide, hurdling a defender to tie the game at 25-25.

As announced in his morning’s assembly, here are the theme days and notable events planned for the final week before Thanksgiving Break. It all culminates with next Friday’s 98^th playing of “The Game” between the Greenies and Asheville School, here at 7 p.m.

The boys and the coaches know they have a gargantuan task on their hands Friday at Rabun Gap (Ga.) in the semifinals of the NCISAA Division I state playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The Greenies and Eagles compete in the four-team Western Football Conference with Cannon School, and Metrolina Christian Academy. 

Cancel culture was in full effect Friday night. 

Jackson Cancel ’26 made all the right reads, spinning off would-be tacklers, and accelerating for one of the finest evenings any Christ School back has had in some time. 

Playoff football returns to Fayssoux Field next Friday. 

Football became something more than football these last four weeks for Christ School players and coaches. 

A game became an escape from the reality going on all around them. A field 100 yards long and 50 yards wide became a sanctuary from all the fallen trees, downed power lines, and displaced families.
