UNC Football Offers New Greenie Brayden Crain '28

Brayden Crain '28 and UNC-Chapel Hill football coach Bill Belichick.

Brayden Crain '28 is new to Christ School, but already a household name to Division I college football programs.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end/tight end from Brevard, N.C., will soon begin his junior year with at least four D-I scholarship offers – East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Miami (Ohio), and …

The picture says a thousand words from Thursday’s visit to Chapel Hill.

Only two Greenies have played football for the Tar Heels since the turn of the century – Khalil Conley ’24 (who is now at Appalachian State University) and Christ School Trustee Calvin Covington ’01. Brayden made 24 tackles in 2025 for public school state runner-up Brevard High School (14-1). Half of his eight receptions went for touchdowns.
