Two seniors whose primary responsibility was to stop opponents had the green light to sign with their respective colleges Thursday, part of a special, school-wide celebration in St. Joseph’s Chapel.
Congratulations to Niko Andrews ’26 (University of Richmond football) and Felix Huebner ’26 (Loyola University Maryland soccer) for taking this next step in their athletic careers.
Niko is a defensive back from Pittsburgh who broke up four passes, made four interceptions, and forced three fumbles for the Greenies (3-8) this fall. He was a first-team selection to the All-Western Football Conference team.
Felix commanded as much of a presence in his final high school season as any goalkeeper who has ever played for Christ School with 14 shutouts and 36 saves. The NCISAA 4-A state champion Greenies (20-1) were 19-0 with him as their starter and conceded a school-record six goals. As a result, Felix was named to the NCISAA 4-A and N.C. Soccer Coaches Association’s all-state teams. The senior from Asheville was the Carolinas Athletic Association Player of the Year.
