Over the years, Greenies looking to fulfill the last step in becoming an Eagle Scout have built everything from benches to bike racks here on campus. Even the war memorial in front of St. Joseph’s Chapel was the completed vision of alumnus Zach Mitchell ’12.

Announcing the 2025 Fall Sports All-Academic Team, coming on the heels of the best-ever seasons for soccer and cross country, which still has next month’s Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) in Portland. Every one of these Greenies carries a weighted grade-point average above 4.0, exemplifying the true student-athlete experience at Christ School. 

CARY, N.C. – A momentous day for a program which is on the rise not only statewide and regionally, but nationally. 

Christ School cross country continued its undefeated season by winning today's Nike Cross Regionals (NXR) Southeast championship for the first time in Cary, N.C., with 72 points.

Christ School boys learn the intricacies of leadership from adults who excel in it, a relational exchange that furthers this community’s success. 

Assistant Head of School Lisa Darling’s ability as a trusted mentor, unequivocally proven over a 46-year career in education, has earned her the 2026 Beverly H. Sgro Award. This honor, given annually by The Heads Network Board of Trustees, is an acknowledgement of Lisa’s work in supporting and advocating for the advancement of women in leadership within independent schools.

The Christ School community will be heading into Thanksgiving Break on a high note thanks to many individual contributions, some of which were recognized with Tuesday’s second edition of the Residential and Student Life Awards.

San Francisco entrepreneur Jake Johnson ’17 said Tuesday that he felt all the warm associations of home as he reacquainted with spaces such as St. Joseph’s Chapel and Wetmore Hall for the first time in six years.

Greenies gave one of their own a standing ovation in Tuesday’s chapel service, a morning specially dedicated to Veterans Day. 

James Warmbrod ’94 served as an infantryman with the U.S. Army’s 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, enlisting after he graduated from the University of Memphis with a degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology.

Sunday night’s message and music came from the mouths of Greenies at downtown Asheville’s Trinity Episcopal Church.

Chaplain Peter Hartwig gave the sermon for a candlelight Celtic Eucharist service. Professor Jim Cassarino and two of his most gifted students, Evan Reich ’26 and Harrison Bieschke ’26, joined in providing the musical accompaniment. Evan beautifully improvised arrangements of his favorite hymns and Harrison sang works by Handel, Elgar, and Robert Lowry.
