Mason Plumlee Reaches NBA Finals With San Antonio Spurs

Mason Plumlee '09 will bring his basketball camp back to Christ School for the fourth year in June.

Next up for Mason Plumlee ’09: The NBA Finals!

Mason memorably led Christ School basketball to state championships as a sophomore, junior, and senior, going on to be a key part of Duke University’s 2010 run to the NCAA title.

Now the 13-year NBA veteran is in the mix for his first world championship with the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs beat defending NBA champion Oklahoma City, 111-103, in Saturday night’s Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

Mason is a reserve forward/center for San Antonio, averaging 1.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. He signed with the Spurs in February. Boys on a weekend trip to Charlotte got to spend time with Mason back on November 15, when he was a member of the Hornets. The opponent was Oklahoma City.

Mason is part of the Christ School Athletic Hall of Fame and will bring his basketball camp to Arden for the fourth year later this month.
