CONCORD - Forest green never looked so fast until Rocky Hansen ‘23 wore it.

The 10-time state champion will speak Sunday at Christ School’s 123rd Commencement, but he's said it all when it comes to his legendary status in North Carolina track and field.

A new tradition served as the unofficial start to Christ School's 123rd Commencement Weekend on Thursday night.

GREENSBORO – Taylor Kuehn ’23 and Jamal Hutchison ’23 went out the way every senior envisions, at the top of their game in their last high school event.

Thirteen days between games is an eternity.

Knowing this, Christ School lacrosse could either let the extended time off help or hinder its state-championship aspirations.

Opportunity came knocking this spring for Christ School athletes.

The Greenies answered in every single sport offered by the Carolinas Athletic Association, the first such conference-championship sweep for the boys since 2018.

GREENSBORO - Led by seniors Jamal Hutchison ’23 and Taylor Kuehn ’23, the Christ School golf team placed second in Monday’s NCISAA Division I state qualifier at the Grandover Resort.

Athletic success is not some new phenomenon at Christ School. Nevertheless, stop and appreciate the rare air that the Greenies are in right now.

DURHAM – Pitching on short rest, Charlie Collins ’24 made it a dreadfully long afternoon for Durham Academy.

Either looking or swinging, the Cavaliers never managed to catch up with Christ School’s ace – Charlie struck out 11 batters in the first six innings of Saturday’s 9-0 shutout win.

When you only get one home meet, you better run like it, throw like it, and jump like it.

Christ School track athletes seemed to get the message on Senior Night.

Given his family background, Emmett Paradine ’22 gets his instincts and knowledge for the sport of lacrosse honestly.

Varsity Tennis had two reasons to celebrate Tuesday: Senior Day and the program's first conference championship since 2018.

RABUN GAP, Ga. – Playing on the road and for the first time in a week, Christ School varsity lacrosse took out some pent-up aggression on Rabun Gap (Ga.).

Jack Shimer ’23 scored the first of his three goals 2 minutes and six seconds in Saturday, and the Greenies built off it for an 11-4 win.

PHILADELPHIA - Christ School's rain-soaked Distance Medley Relay team of Dawson Reeves '24, Brendan Regan '24, Kazhi Sealey '23, and Rocky Hansen '23 won Friday at the Penn Relays with the second-fastest time in meet history and a North Carolina state record (9 minutes, 58.15 seconds).

RABUN GAP, Ga.  - Like most at his position, Christ School’s catcher does thankless work every game that never shows up in the box score.

Tuesday might as well have been Jonathan Reece ’25 Appreciation Night with his statistical output.

Matthew Hammel ’23 does not foresee playing baseball beyond the club or intramural level at Appalachian State University.

His senior season would be a pretty hard act to follow.

Cayden Jones ’24 wasn’t looking for social media clout when he took a picture with Nick Saban in late January, a coffee table full of championship rings laid out before them.

The smile on Cayden’s face is because a visit to Tuscaloosa, Ala., had confirmed what he already knew – the very last scholarship offer in his recruiting was the only one he wanted.

WEDDINGTON – Dawson Reeves ’24 has been raising his arms a lot lately.

The junior from Canton, N.C., broke the tape Saturday night with another career-defining win, taking first place in the mile at the Carolina Distance Carnival.
