CHARLOTTE – Winning ugly is still winning.

Coach Josh Coley began the process of returning championship basketball to Christ School in the summer of 2021.

But he couldn’t do it alone.

CHARLOTTE - Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 is bona fide as a high riser and high achiever for Christ School basketball.

Lleyton was one of five winners of a $1,000 AFLAC Scholarship at Thursday’s banquet for the Phenom Hoops George Lynch Invitational.

CHARLOTTE – Christ School swimmers dove into the deep end in terms of competition with Thursday’s start to the 2023-24 season.

The results were encouraging, Coach Dr. Brent Harris reports.

Truett Compton ‘25 has some Thanksgiving Break plans in Virginia.

All-conference selections have been announced for the Western Football Conference that Christ School is part of along with Rabun Gap (Ga.), Metrolina Christian Academy, and Cannon School.

Keenan Wilkins ’24 lit up Legacy Early College (S.C.) for 24 points, Mikey Wilkins ’25 added 16 points, and Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 had 12 in a 69-58 win that should reverberate regionally and nationally.

Players the caliber of Jamari Briggs ’24 can often be their own harshest critics.

The 6-foot-5 wing from Hartsville, S.C., was immediately going over things he could have done better in Friday night’s 69-58 home win over Legacy Early College (S.C.). His mood lightened up considerably when asked about being a Division I recruit.

Where there was a Wilkins, there was a way Tuesday night.

Cousins Keenan Wilkins ’24 and Mikey Wilkins ’25 always talked about what it would be like to be high school teammates. Christ School varsity basketball happens to be the benefactor of this long-awaited family reunion.

Up and down the Christ School sideline, there is the palpable feel of a confident football team.

But forget feelings, Friday’s score says it all.

How can 2023 get any better for the Paradine family? Just wait.

Christ School junior Caden Paradine ’25 announced Thursday on his Instagram that he has verbally committed to play college lacrosse for the University of Denver.
