Wrestling Sees More Early Success

Ideally, a program shows signs of growth and increased morale with its second year.

The reality so far is better than the ideal for Christ School wrestling.

The Greenies are particularly encouraged by their next-to-last tournament of 2025 – they won three of their five matches at Saturday’s (Metrolina Christian Academy) Warrior Duals. Christ School defeated Ambassador Christian by a 42-39 score, then went on to beat SouthLake Christian Academy, 60-24, and Forsyth Country Day, 48-24.

Individual leaders in wins so far are Rory Jennings ‘28 (7-1), Aidan Beatty ‘27 (6-2), Hugh Bailey ‘29 (6-2), and Tristan Richard ‘27 (3-0).

The team coached by Jimmy Ballantyne P’30, Joseph Graziosi P’25, and Alec Baynard has transformed a former racquetball court into an on-campus mat room. Last season was the first for wrestling at Christ School since the winter of 2016-17.

The next tournament for the Greenies is the Falcon Frenzy on Friday and Saturday at West Henderson.
