Christ School is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Alumni Awards, recognizing five outstanding alumni whose accomplishments, leadership, service, and commitment to the Greenie community exemplify the enduring values of a Christ School education.
The awards will be presented during Alumni Weekend on Saturday, September 26, at 10 a.m. in Pingree Auditorium. Alumni, families, and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate these exceptional members of the Christ School community and honor the impact they continue to make.
This year’s honorees are:
Robert B. Moore III ’90 Young Alumnus Award
Daniel Murchison ’11
The Young Alumnus Award recognizes a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, leadership, and promise in the years following his time at Christ School. Daniel Murchison ’11 is honored for his accomplishments and the ways he continues to represent the character, values, and spirit of the Greenie brotherhood.
Distinguished Alumni Award
Edwin Cooper ’81
The Distinguished Alumni Award honors a graduate whose professional accomplishments, personal integrity, and contributions to his community reflect the highest ideals of Christ School. Edwin Cooper ’81 is recognized for his exceptional achievements and lasting impact.
Bill Sewell ’57 Service and Loyalty Award
Matt Cooper ’01
Named in honor of a legendary Greenie whose devotion to Christ School spanned generations, the Bill Sewell ’57 Service and Loyalty Award recognizes an alumnus whose commitment and dedication strengthen the Christ School community. Matt Cooper ’01 is honored for his continued service and loyalty to his alma mater.
Alumni Achievement Award
Buck Hinkle ’66
The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes a graduate whose accomplishments and contributions have brought distinction to himself and to Christ School. Buck Hinkle ’66 is celebrated for his remarkable achievements and the example he has set for generations of Greenies.
Robert A. Boylan, Jr. ’66 Award
Robert Byrd ’11
The Robert A. Boylan, Jr. ’66 Award recognizes an alumnus whose leadership, character, and commitment embody the values of Christ School. Robert Byrd ’11 is honored for his contributions and dedication to the Greenie community.
Head of School Award
Betty Montgomery W'47, P'93, P'96, P'98, GP' 24, GP'25, GP'27
The Head of School Award is a means of expressing appreciation and honoring significant one-time contributions or accumulative support for Christ School by individuals who did not attend the school.
These Greenies represent the very best of Christ School—individuals who have carried the lessons of the Four Pillars into their professions, communities, and relationships. Their accomplishments remind us that the influence of a Christ School education extends far beyond the years spent on campus.
