Minor league baseball teams are undefeated when it comes to quirky mascots and William Fleming ’17 has a new organization for his sixth season of professional baseball.
William, 27, signed a minor league contract earlier this week with the Minnesota Twins, who assigned him to their Double-A affiliate in the Texas League. The Wind Surge open their season tonight on the road at Arkansas.
William is a right-handed pitcher with a career record of 25-23 with a 5.47 earned run average and 329 strikeouts in 416.1 innings pitched. He worked out on campus last month, throwing a bullpen to Greenies catcher Henry Tutera ’28.
