Watch a Full Replay of the Nike Cross Regionals Southeast Meet

CARY, N.C. - By any name, it’s history in the rear-view with Portland on the horizon.

Christ School cross country chose the pseudo moniker, “Royal Pines Distance Project” as an homage to the place, and the hard training, the team has put into this program-defining season.

Watch a full replay of Saturday’s Nike Cross Regionals (NXR) Southeast meet at the link in our stories, as well as an interview with the first place and undefeated Greenies afterwards.

Christ School’s cross country program was founded in 1963 – then revived after six years of dormancy by Greenie Legend Reed Finlay in 1973. The Greenies had never won a state championship in the sport until the 2020s. They now have three rings in the past five years under Coach Randy Ashley.

The boys still have some work to do on the West Coast.

By virtue of their win Saturday, they are an automatic qualifier for the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) meet which is the first weekend back from Thanksgiving Break – December 6 in Portland.
