Varsity Soccer Wins Final Tune-Up Before CAA Play

Christ School varsity soccer players celebrate a goal in Thursday's 3-0 home win over East Henderson.

Christ School freshman Truett Compton ’25 juked his defender Thursday and saw nothing but green shirts in the penalty area.

Ethan Rose ‘24 and Carter Compton ‘24 were both in prime position to receive the crossing pass. And on first viewing it was hard to tell who was responsible for the finish. The most important thing is that varsity soccer got the goal and succeeded in its final tune-up for Carolinas Athletic Association play.

Along with that initial goal at 35:14, the Greenies received a second-half header from Ethan and an own goal from East Henderson to claim a 3-0 home win.

Ben Yang ‘24 and Basti Guder ’23 were the Greenie goalkeepers who combined for the shutout.

Christ School (3-2-0) has already surpassed its wins total from last season and hosts defending CAA champion Rabun Gap (4-0-1) on Tuesday. Game time will be 4:30 p.m.
