Given the heat, keeping everyone fresh with a new-look starting lineup and plenty of substitutions was a luxury for Christ School varsity soccer on Tuesday.

The Greenies peppered Legacy Early College (S.C.) with 36 shots. Ollie Searle ’21 provided his own burst of energy, scoring for the first time this season just 1 minute and 44 seconds into a 5-3 home win.

Two more juniors, Agustin Marichal Leon ’21 (10:06), Carson Campbell ’21 (41:13), followed up the goal by Ollie. Adam Keever ’20 (44:49 and 55:38) netted the final two goals. Assists went to Adam, Carson, and Jack Lee ’21. Christ School (7-2-0) led 2-0 at halftime and controlled possession throughout its seventh win.

Reserve goalkeepers Sawyer Breiter ’22 and Max Redic ’20 each secured five saves, allowing usual starter Michael Mahoney ‘20 to dress Tuesday as a field player. Michael (three) was one of 14 Greenies to take two or more shots.

Christ School won its only Carolinas Athletic Association game back on August 28 (3-2 at Carolina Day). The Greenies will try to stay unbeaten in the league Friday when they host Asheville School (6-1-0, 2-0-0) at 4:30 p.m., a game that will be live streamed by the Christ School Broadcast Network. The Blues shut out Carolina Day, 2-0, on Tuesday and have outscored opponents this season, 45-9.

Through nine games, scoring leaders for Christ School are Carson (six goals), Adam (five) and Connor Hall '20 (five). Adam and Carson are tied for the team lead in assists (four).
