Tyler Jones '26 Commits to Albany Basketball

Every championship team needs one.

An indispensable player willing to take on the duties that don’t often get clipped or shared on social media.

Tyler Jones ’26 wasn’t afraid to neutralize any team’s top scorer with his defense last season, one of the myriad of reasons the Greenies hoisted their third consecutive NCISAA 4-A state championship trophy in February. He contributed his share on offense, too, with averages of 8.3 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 rebounds a game.

The 6-foot-4 guard from Memphis gave a verbal commitment to the University at Albany on Friday, making him the first senior from Christ School’s Class of 2026 to lock in his college plans. Tyler was an all-conference player in the Carolinas Athletic Association for the Greenies (28-3) last season, his first at Christ School.

Albany has been coached since 2021 by Dwayne Killings and went 17-16 last season, including an 8-8 record in the America East Conference.
