The criteria for the National Honor Society, melding academics, service, and character, is very much intrinsic to the student experience at Christ School. Boys must have at least three consecutive semesters, at least two of which are completed at Christ School, with a weighted grade-point average of no less than 3.9 and no grades below a B-minus. The service component requires students to have performed a minimum of 20 hours, and lastly, each student must have no major Honor Code violations or judiciary violations during their time here.

The National Honor Society exists in all 50 states and started in 1921. Christ School did not have a chapter until 1979. Two individuals from that first group are currently on the Board of Trustees – Edwin Cooper '81 and Tom Curtis '81.
