Proof positive that the world becomes an infinitely smaller place when relationships made at Christ School are the basis.

Tray Mauney β€˜23 played quarterback for two other colleges – Lafayette College (Pa.) and Anderson University (S.C.) – before reuniting with his high school coach for this season at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York.

Statistically, and where it counts most, wins and losses, it’s been a great thing on the football field. And the bond between Tray and Chad Walker goes without saying, as the coach broke down in tears introducing Tray for his Senior Speech four years ago.

So far this season, Tray has completed 82 of 129 passes (a 63.6 completion percentage) for 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns with two interceptions. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior from Forest City, N.C., has supplemented the passing with 61 carries for 234 yards and four touchdowns. Coming off a bye week, the Setters (3-2) are 2-0 in the NCAA Division II Northeast-10 Conference after going 0-11 overall last season. They host American International College on Saturday for homecoming.

Tray had 3,110 yards and responsibility for 28 touchdowns in his career at Christ School. He was an all-conference selection and team captain his senior year.
