Back-to-back wins ahead of Easter Break will do a lot to uplift a Christ School varsity tennis team being fueled largely by a youth movement.
The Greenies swept Asheville Christian Academy on Tuesday, 9-0, then followed it up Thursday with a 6-3 home win over Rabun Gap. There were no seniors in the lineup for the latter match.
The Greenies (2-2, 2-0) had top-heavy success Thursday, winning four of the six singles matches – Chris Michaelides ’28 at No. 1, William Davis ’27 at No. 2, Andrew Carson ’28 at No. 3, and Matthew Chen ‘29 at No. 5 – along with No. 1 doubles (Andrew and William) and No. 2 doubles (Chris and Jordan Stolevski ’30).
Christ School’s next match is Thursday at home against Carolina Day (3-2, 1-0), which is the defending champion in the Carolinas Athletic Association.
