Mondays get a bad rap.
April 14, 2025, did a lot to change the narrative in the eyes of the boys.
The timing and the weather lined up for a flawless Head of School Holiday, announced in morning assembly by senior speaker Nolan Miller ’25, and shortly after confirmed by Dr. Jenkins and Mr. Goodrum P’29 in their beach attire.
Following assembly, the boys were able to take a break from classes and unwind with inflatable waterslides, outdoor games of all kinds, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament organized by Jackson Cancel ’26, and lunchtime cookout with burgers, barbecue, and ice cream sundaes from SAGE Dining. Conditions were sunny with high temperatures in the low 80s.
The grand finale was a hot wing eating contest on the patio of Stolz Hall, for the adventurous few who can handle a few thousand more Scoville than the average person. A late-afternoon visit by the Kona Ice truck cooled everyone off.
Easter Break for Christ School begins Friday at 12:05 p.m. and lasts until next Monday at 7 p.m.
