Momentum can be a team’s best friend or worst enemy.

Christ School soccer is home for the start of the NCISAA 4-A state playoffs in large part because the Greenies (10-9) won six of their last eight regular-season games.

Kickoff for Tuesday night’s first-round game with Metrolina Christian Academy (4-14) is 6 p.m.

Christ School was the second-place team in the Carolinas Athletic Association. The team was led in scoring by Wells Edwards ’25 (nine goals, one assist), Jimmy Mennell ’24 (four goals, one assist), Truett Compton ’25 (three goals, two assists), Brendan Regan ’24 (three goals), Bradley Campbell ’24 (two goals, four assists), Jaron Richardson ’23 (two goals, three assists), Jackson Knoll ’23 (two goals, two assists), Ethan Rose ’24 (two goals), and Carter Compton ’24 (one goal, three assists).

Ben Yang ’24 has made 145 saves this season and been in goal for seven shutouts.

Jimmy and Brendan had the goals and Jaron gave out an assist in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Asheville Christian Academy.

The Greenies have already surpassed their wins total from last season (nine) and are looking for their first postseason win since 2020. Whoever advances out of Tuesday's playoff game will have to travel to Covenant Day (8-7-1) for the second round.
