As a blanketing defense showed no signs of abating and the goals kept coming from the reserves, Christ School’s sideline only got louder.
Thursday was the team’s first full game at full strength and it showed.
Davis Campbell ’28 started the scoring in the ninth minute, Costa Barlas ’26 attained his second hat trick in four games, and the Greenies blew Ambassador Christian off the field by the mercy rule, 9-0.
Declan Szostczuk ’26 had two of Christ School’s goals, including the one that ended the game prematurely with 10:32 remaining in the second half. Taz Kasambara ’26, Leo Streppa ‘29, and Billy Barlas ‘29 also had goals for the Greenies.
Head coach Guy Campbell ’00 cleared his bench with about 25 minutes to play, and the starters were vocal in their support afterwards.
Starter Felix Huebner ‘26 and backup goalies Tim Wu ‘26 and Max Rodriguez ‘29 combined on the clean sheet.
The Greenies’ next game is Tuesday at Charlotte Country Day.
