An awards hat trick for the reigning state champions and indubitably another testament to their historic season.
Christ School placed three senior leaders on the NCISAA 4-A All-State Soccer Team, announced Friday – midfielder Costa Barlas '26, goalkeeper Felix Huebner '26, and midfielder Taz Kasambara.
Three all-state players is tied for the highest total the Greenies have ever had.
The first state-championship team in the program’s 78-year history outscored opponents this fall, 82-6, and has been ranked as high as No. 8 in the country by MaxPreps.
Christ School (20-1) was undefeated with Felix (36 saves, 14 shutouts) in goal, while the offensive firepower came from a cast headed up by Costa (18 goals, 11 assists) and Taz (eight goals, nine assists).
Costa scored twice in first 13 minutes of the 4-A state championship game on October 25. A 2-1 win at Covenant Day was retribution for the Greenies’ only loss (an August game decided by penalty kicks that Felix did not play in). #GoGreen
