PORTLAND - Imagine being on the opposite side of the country and still being able to watch a brother have one of the biggest race performances of his career.
In person, nonetheless.
The stars aligned for Christ School cross country on Saturday.
Competing against a field that included top-flight professionals, alumnus Rocky Hansen ’23 placed second in the USA Track and Field 10K Cross Country Championships (29 minutes, 24.80) seconds.
The top-six runners from Saturday’s race will represent the U.S. in the World Cross Country Championships scheduled for January 10, 2026, in Tallahassee, Fla. It will be the first time in more than three decades that the U.S. has hosted the event.
Saturday’s race was at the same site as the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) meet – Glendoveer Golf Course – which allowed Christ School’s team to support Rocky.
Rocky is a junior at Wake Forest University and was the NCAA runner-up in cross country this past season.
