A change of pace in every sense.
Christ School cross country’s runners finally got to race the same grounds they train on Tuesday – the team’s first home meet of the season was Senior Night for Noah Clancy ’26 and Lansing Lewis ’26. And the stakes were relatively low-key, considering some of the competition the undefeated Greenies have seen since August.
Christ School still ran exceptionally well, taking nine of the top-10 spots individually, led by junior Dallas Reeves ’27 (15 minutes, 46.60 seconds) to win with a perfect score of 15 points.
The Greenies are currently ranked eighth in the country by COROS/MileSplit and 10th by DyeStat, but are due to jump when the next update is made since they defeated fourth-ranked Jesuit (La.) and other quality opponents at this past weekend’s Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, N.C. It was been more than 15 years since a Christ School team in any sport achieved a top-five national ranking (the 2008-2009 basketball team).
Many of Tuesday's teams will return to Arden for the October 15 Carolinas Athletic Association Championship Meet.
