Noah Graham '23, Henry Holland '23 Named National Merit Commended Students

Dean of Academics Emily Pulsifer announced Monday that two Greenies from the Class of 2023 have been named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Noah Graham ’23 and Henry Holland ’23 scored in the top 3 percent of all U.S. students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last spring.

The boys were honored in Monday’s Assembly and presented with certificates.

Noah’s hometown is Hickory, N.C., while Henry is from Asheville and is a Day Student Proctor.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” the National Merit Scholarship Corporation said in a news release.

“These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
