Noah Clancy '26 Commits to Iona University Cross Country/Track

Congratulations to Noah Clancy ’26, who announced through his Instagram that he has committed to run cross country and track for Iona University.

Noah is from Maggie Valley, N.C., and the eighth Christ School senior to make a college sports commitment.

Last fall, he ran a personal record of 15 minutes, 12.20 seconds for 5 kilometers (3.1 miles). Noah was the only senior consistently in Christ School cross country’s top-seven runners, helping lead them to Carolinas Athletic Association, NCISAA 4-A state, and Nike Cross Regionals Southeast championships. He was all-state, all-conference, and selected to the Asheville Citizen-Times All-Western North Carolina team.

More recently, Noah ran strong at this month’s NCRunners Independent Schools Indoor Championship meet, coming in fourth in the 3,200-meter run (9:23.38).

Outside of athletics, Noah is a Proctor in Harris House, an AP Capstone Diploma Scholar (the highest possible distinction in the AP awards), and a member of the National Honor Society.

Noah gave his Senior Speech back in November.

“What’s your gift?” he asked everyone in Pingree Auditorium.

“The gifts you possess inside are your greatest weapon of change in this world,” he continued. “Use them to build something special.”
