Baseball has returned to Christ School with a bang.

The JV team had a lot to live up to Tuesday, hosting the first on-campus baseball game in nearly two years. And the Greenies gave the home fans what they wanted and more, with all nine starters scoring at least one run in a 18-3 rout of the Greenville (S.C.) Hurricanes.

Wilkes Thomas ‘24 was 3-for-3 with four RBIs, a double, and a walk. Other players with multi-hit games were leadoff Will Walker ‘25 (2-3 with one RBI and two walks), Matthew Hammel ‘23 (2-4 with a triple and two RBIs), and Briggs Kroeger ‘24 (2-3 with three RBIs).

After plating two runs in the first winning, Christ School (2-0) batted around in the second for a 12-run rally. The Greenies added five more runs in the third, which was more than enough support for starting pitcher Reese Ballard ‘24. The right-hander scattered one earned run and four hits in four innings of work, with three strikeouts and two walks.

The next game for Christ School is March 31 at Rabun Gap (Ga.).
