JT Duchac '28 Helps Lay 'Wreaths Across America'

JT Duchac ’28 took part in an honorable and special service Saturday, one that was months in the making.

Wreaths Across America is a fundraiser that models itself after the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Ceremony.

JT helped lay wreaths at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, N.C. – each wreath was sponsored and the name of the veteran was announced as they were thanked for their service. Among the veterans honored was Robert Morgan ’36, the namesake of Christ School’s aviation program and the pilot of the famed Memphis Belle bomber.

JT is a Cadet Second Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol-Asheville Composite Squadron NC-019, a civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. He and other members of the squadron helped sell wreath sponsorships over the past few months. JD's hometown is Arden.
