Greenies At Their Best On Day Of Service

khalil

Behind every good deed Wednesday was an open heart and open mind.

Christ School’s annual Day of Service calls upon the full student body and faculty to show the power of their compassion throughout the Asheville community. The boys worked for local charities and non-profit organizations at 26 different sites, much of their labor was done outdoors on a cool, pleasant morning.

Once everyone was back on campus Wednesday, there was time set aside for reflection following the school year’s first service in the Father Kirk Brown Outdoor Chapel.

Day of Service occurs every September and is part of Christ School’s broader Service Learning program which requires each boy to perform a minimum 15 hours of service per year. Many Greenies find so much gratification in helping others that they accumulate enough hours to win President’s Volunteer Service Awards.
