Benevolence in the Asheville community goes far beyond an annual thing at Christ School.
But no day on the calendar distills our year-round efforts in service learning like Day of Service, which occurs every September and has grown out of a nationwide initiative to honor the victims of September 11, 2001, through acts of community service and volunteerism.
Community partners for this year’s Day of Service included Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Basecamp Boulders, Calvary Episcopal Church, Faith 360 Wider Circle, Henderson County Parks & Recreation, MANNA FoodBank, and Rise Against Hunger.
There was also on-campus cleanup and trail work.
