Greenies Place Seventh in Nike Cross Nationals Meet

PORTLAND – About the time Christ School shook off any lingering jet lag, there was still a matter of a waterlogged course and the stoutest competition the Greenies had seen all season long.

The Northwest did not disappoint with its weather, and Christ School runners gained invaluable experience on a big stage Saturday, fighting to a seventh-place finish out of 22 teams in the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) meet.

Individual results for Christ School (254 points) were as follows – Jack Dennehy ’27 (48th place, 15:54.10), Reynolds Young ’27 (49th, 15:55.50), Dallas Reeves ’27 (92nd, 16:22.80), Ben Graham ’27 (108th, 16:27.90), Noah Clancy ’26 (148th, 16:51.60), Brooks Barbee ’27 (154th, 16:54.40), and Brody Webb ’27 (159th, 16:57.40).

The Greenies were undefeated up until Saturday's meet at the Glendoveer Golf Course with an unprecedented string of championships. They won invitationals in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia leading up to the Carolinas Athletic Association meet, the NCISAA 4-A state championship meet, and finally the Nike Cross Regionals (NXR) Southeast Championship.

Seven of the team’s athletes made the Asheville Citizen-Times All-Western North Carolina Team, with Brooks being named WNC Runner of the Year.
