Greenies to Kick Off Football Season in Kentucky

Across the board, Christ School does not play many games of any kind in Kentucky.

Yet the Bluegrass State is where the defending NCISAA Division II state champions will begin their football season on August 20.

The Greenies have agreed to be part of next week’s Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic, with Corbin (Ky.) as their opponent for an 8:15 p.m. kickoff.

Corbin had an enrollment of 932 students last school year. The city itself is located about halfway between Knoxville, Tenn., and Lexington, Ky.

Christ School now has nine varsity football games lined up for this fall and will play at Atlanta’s Holy Innocents Episcopal (on Aug. 28) and Polk County (Sept. 10) before the home opener at Fayssoux Field against Rabun Gap (Ga.) on Sept. 17.
