Greenies Easily Win Season's First Track Meet

Wednesday was a reminder that Christ School track & field remains the most dominant boys program in the Carolinas Athletic Association.

The Greenies racked up 165 team points to easily top meet host Asheville School (108), Rabun Gap (45), Asheville Christian Academy (14), and Carolina Day (12).

Individual winners for Christ School included Dawson Reeves ’24 in the 800-meter run (1:59.87), Drew Redmond ’21 in the 200-meter dash (22.75), Tobenna Okoli ‘22 in the discus (109-5) Painter Richards-Baker ’21 in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.98), Will Purvis '22 in the pole vault, and Jackson Burch '22 in the 3,200-meter run.

Relay winners were the 400-meter team (Painter, Drew, Quinton Cancel '23, and Tony Murphy '24) and the 3,200-meter team (Matthew Luke '22, Rhodes Feild '23, Jack Swango '21, and Tyler Bell '21). 

Wednesday was the first meet for the Greenies in two years. Christ School won NCISAA Division I team state championships in 2018 and 2019.
