Greenie Trio to Row in Olympic Development Camp

Rowing may be the ultimate team sport, but three Greenies have managed to make their individual talent known.

James Lilly ’24, Wyatt Love ’24, and Judson Meyers '25 will be furthering their training alongside other elite rowers their age this summer at a U.S. Olympic Development Camp. The four-week camp is spread out over portions of June and July in Jacksonville, Fla.

Once they are in Florida, the Greenies will get personal instruction from USRowing certified coaches and not only receive pointers on technique, but things like nutrition and recovery.

The USRowing Olympic Development Program describes itself as “a multi-phased, age-based approach to developing athletes in the safest, most productive way possible. USRowing identifies talented athletes with the potential to grow within the greater national team system. We provide these athletes with challenging, yet developmentally appropriate opportunities.”

James, Wyatt, and Judson compete for the Asheville Youth Rowing Association, which holds most of its practices on Lake Julian, a body of water only about five miles from Christ School’s campus.
