Climbers in the Christ School Outdoor Program get a sense of accomplishment and a strenuous workout, too. Competition is often the farthest thing from their minds.
Saturday was a break from the norm, allowing the boys to show what they have learned from practice in the school's new climbing room and off-campus climbs.
Three individuals placed in the Blue Ridge Throwdown - Chapin Mohney ‘23 took first place in the men’s recreational division and Rhodes Feild ‘23 was third. Coach Jack Lynch won the men’s intermediate division.
Mason Heth ‘24, Jack Godwin ‘22, Matthew Sorrells ‘23, Vovi Lagutin 23, and Henry Holland ‘23 were other Greenies who scaled the walls of the Riveter in Fletcher, N.C. The Riveter is only five miles from campus and boasts an impressive climbing gym as well as a bike park and yoga studio.
