Christ School track was twice as strong as any other boys team in Wednesday’s Carolinas Athletic Association Championship Meet.

The Greenies won their conference meet with 156 points, double the total of runner-up and host Asheville School (78), and far beyond the rest of the field – third-place Rabun Gap (51 points), Asheville Christian Academy (41), and Carolina Day (39).
Four athletes became CAA individual champions for the first time: Carter Compton ’24 (high jump, 6-2), Noah Graham ’23 (pole vault, 9-6), Zack Myers ’23 (300-meter hurdles, 43.21), and Jack Cross ’22 (3,200-meter run, 9:54.65).
Quinton Cancel ’23 and Morlue Eesiah ‘24 tied for the best triple jump (42 feet), with Quinton repeating as conference champion by virtue of a tiebreaker.
In addition to Jack’s run in the 3,200, the Greenies got distance wins from Dawson Reeves ’24 (800-meter run, 1:56.74) and Rocky Hansen ’23 (1,600-meter run, 4:27.46). And in the relays, Christ School bookended things by winning the first championship finals race of the day - the 3,200-meter relay (9:17.97) – and the last – the 1,600-meter relay (3:37.24).
