INDIAN TRAIL – Christ School varsity football made its final case to the NCISAA playoff seeding committee a convincing one.

Five different players had touchdowns Friday and the defense produced three interceptions. The team did much of its damage early, with a 29-7 halftime lead turning into a 43-19 win on Senior Night at Metrolina Christian Academy.

The Greenies (3-6) now await their seeding for next week’s start to the state playoffs, having won back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Christ School got started Friday with a 36-yard run by Jackson Cancel '26 at the 6:46 mark of the first quarter. Mason Holtzclaw '27 scored on quarterback keepers of 1 and 5 yards along with throwing for a 6-yard touchdown to Alabama recruit Cayden Jones '24. Kaden Brown '24 scored his fifth touchdown in two weeks on a 5-yard run late in the second quarter.

North Carolina recruit Khalil Conley '24 couldn’t have better anticipated the pass that turned into a 34-yard pick six with 5:43 left in the first quarter. Khalil had been absent from the lineup a week ago due to injury.

The other interceptions were made by Noah Fleming '24 and Will Walker '25. Finley Sullivan '25 recovered an onside kick in the second half.
