Eighth-Grade Exhibition Shows Growth, Knowledge of Youngest Boys

Head of School Dr. Sean Jenkins asked every eighth grader to stand in Tuesday's Assembly. He saluted the boys for the vital role they will play in the future of the Christ School community and the courage they have shown in their first five months as Greenies.

The moment dovetailed nicely into Tuesday night's Eighth Grade Exhibition in the Lower Science Wing.

This is the sixth year for the exhibition, which is meant to be a summation of everything the youngest Greenies have learned in their first months at Christ School.

The boys imagine what their ideal civilization would look like, all the way down to a fictional name, landscape, language, motto, symbol, and value system.

Associate Dean of Academics and longtime Eighth Grade Coordinator James Uhler teaches a curriculum in which the boys are introduced to the values expected of them as Greenies and gentlemen who practice good citizenship.
