WINSTON-SALEM – Given the distance, the 1,000-meter run requires a mix of endurance and speed.

Dawson Reeves ’24 had it covered Saturday at the Fast Track Invitational indoor track meet.

The Christ School senior and Duke University recruit ran the state’s fastest time this winter (2 minutes, 29.51 seconds) to win the race by more than 4 seconds. Logan Hill of Charlotte Catholic (2:33.76) was the runner-up.

As a junior, Dawson won the NCISAA indoor state championship in the 1,600. He announced his commitment to Duke in September and has since signed with the Blue Devils.
