Dawson Reeves '24 Takes First Place at Raleigh Relays

Good Friday, indeed!

Dawson Reeves ’24 began his Easter Break by winning the 3,200 meters Friday afternoon at N.C. State’s Raleigh Relays, running 9 minutes, 11.48 seconds. The Duke recruit was up against a stacked field that included NCISAA 4-A state cross country champion Tyler Surface of North Raleigh Christian (10th place, 9:21.74).

Dawson’s time is just a hair under what he ran in November (9:11.56) when he won another big 3,200 race – the New Balance Dash for Doobie in the Winston-Salem area. Like that race, Greenies coach Randy Ashley was with Dawson for Friday’s win in Raleigh.

Dawson's personal record for the 3,200 (8:57.47) came last year at a meet in Arcadia, Calif.
