An otherwise gray, rainy day in Mechanicsville, Virginia, except for the results for Christ School cross country!
The nation’s No. 1 team remains undefeated after winning The Virginia Showcase meet’s premier race with 26 points.
Saturday’s individual results for the Greenies: Brooks Barbee ’27 (fifth place, 15:02.20), Jack Dennehy ’27 (sixth, 15:03.60), Reynolds Young ’27 (seventh, 15:09.50), Dallas Reeves ’27 (16th, 15:23.70), Ben Graham ’27 (18th, 15:26.30), Timmy McDowell ’27 (21st, 15:28.60), Brody Webb ’27 (40th, 15:44.20), and Carl Baird ’27 (66th, 16:02.70).
The times run by Brooks, Jack, and Reynolds rank among the top-15 in school history. The team average was 15:13 despite wet, windy conditions. Christ School also won this meet's Showcase division in 2025.
Next up for the Greenies is Wednesday's Carolinas Athletic Association Championship Meet at Asheville Christian Academy. Christ School has won the last five CAA championships; the conference meet was cancelled by external factors in 2020 (COVID-19) and 2024 (Hurricane Helene).
