The Comeback Must be Stronger Than the Setback

What began as a weather disturbance in the Caribbean came to our doorstep one year ago this week.

High winds and rain from Hurricane Helene knocked down more than 1,000 trees on campus, leaving Christ School without power for weeks and drinkable water for more than a month. The Asheville area, in general, suffered unfathomable damage that claimed 108 lives statewide.

We said it then and we'll say it again: The comeback must be stronger than the setback. Months after the fact, the boys are still doing their part to be #GreenieStrong through service learning and assuring that everything that was taken away by Hurricane Helene is being restored, better than before.

Enjoy the above video, which includes some never-before-seen footage of the aftermath of Helene and details Christ School's response, including outreach on our September 10 Day of Service.
