College Offers Streaming in for Greenie Freshman Quarterback

You know who else uses the Metallica song for its entrance music?

Virginia Tech, which extended a scholarship offer to Greenie freshman quarterback Mason Holtzclaw ’27 during his visit to Blacksburg, Va., last weekend. 

Mason has also received Division I offers from Alabama-Birmingham, Appalachian State, Charlotte, and East Carolina since his first season for Christ School. He will be roaming the campus of North Carolina on Saturday for an unofficial visit. 

Mason is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound underclassman from Belton, S.C., and a 4.0 student. He passed for 1,522 yards, averaging 138.4 per game, to go along with 14 touchdowns last fall. Mason led the Greenies to their 12th consecutive win over Asheville School, aided by his clutch 23-yard touchdown pass on fourth down to Cornell recruit T.J. Hamilton ‘24 just before halftime.
