Hare and Hounds

Christ School cross country’s performance at Saturday morning’s Hare and Hounds Invitational bodes well for the future.

The Greenies (200 points) placed fourth in the team standings, led by a pair of top-10 individual races by seniors Andrew Hammel ’20 (fourth place, 15:45.00) and Joseph Visconti '20 (sixth, 15:57.90). Rocky Hansen ’23 (37th, 16:40.80), Dawson Reeves ’24 (45th, 16:50), Ethan Kemp ’21 (144th, 18:13.60), and Jack Fitch ’20 (194th, 18:58.70) also ran season-best times on the McAlpine Greenway course in Charlotte.

McAlpine is the same course which will be used for October’s NCISAA state meet. Christ School is No. 2 in the latest rankings for NCISAA 4-A teams, compiled by MileSplit North Carolina.

Cuthbertson (136 points) won Saturday's championship race. Christiansburg (Va.) was the third-place team ahead of the Greenies with 178 points. Tommy Schleusner '20 (80th place, 18:25.70) led the way for Christ School in Saturday's Invitational division. In all, 11 of the 14 runners that Christ School took to Charlotte ran season-best times.
