Charlie Collins '24 Commits to Western Carolina Baseball

Just ask state champion High Point Wesleyan how effective Charlie Collins ’24 can be when his stuff is working.

Charlie gave up only two earned runs, six hits, and no walks when Christ School varsity baseball soundly beat the Trojans, 14-4, back on April 1.

The game in Arden only went six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

That start is representative of the type of pitcher Charlie can be, a sentiment that Western Carolina University obviously agreed with. The Catamounts received a verbal commitment from Charlie on Wednesday, a decision he announced on his social media.

As a junior, the right-hander from Bryson City, N.C., was responsible for over half (nine) of the Greenies’ 16 wins. He had a 3.04 earned-run average with 58 strikeouts in 46 innings pitched.

Charlie plays in the offseason for the On Deck Academy showcase organization out of Charlotte. He is the fifth senior from Christ School's Class of 2024 to make a college sports commitment.
