The wait is almost over for some lucky college football program.
Cayden Jones ’24 will announce his verbal commitment in a press conference scheduled for the end of the school day on April 21.
When his choice is revealed, it will be another seminal moment for the most highly-recruited football player in Christ School history.
Cayden’s rundown of scholarship offers includes (in alphabetical order): Alabama, Auburn, Charlotte, Duke, East Carolina, Kentucky, Liberty, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, N.C. State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Cayden has played three years at the varsity level and is a two-time all-state and two-time all-conference selection.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior from Asheville should finish his career with more than 200 tackles and has at some point played the following positions for the Greenies – linebacker, defensive back, receiver, quarterback, and kick returner.
Cayden’s commitment will make him the fourth Greenie from the Class of 2024 to have already picked a college, joining Bryson Cokley (Wake Forest University basketball), Khalil Conley (University of North Carolina football), and Josh Harrison (Wake Forest University football).
