Buck Duggins '25 Raises Money for Charity Through Fishing Tournament

How many fish stories have come from Christ School Lake over the years?

Buck Duggins ’25 made his own for a worthy cause Sunday, organizing a fishing tournament to benefit the C.A.S.T. For Kids Foundation. He and the boys raised $334 for C.A.S.T. (Catch A Special Thrill), a charity which seeks to enrich the lives of children with special needs through the sport of fishing.

C.A.S.T. held 100 events across the U.S. last year in which children ages 6-18 with special needs and their caretakers came together with community volunteers for a day of fishing that they may not otherwise experience. Christ School boys volunteered at a 2023 C.A.S.T. event held on Arden’s Lake Julian.

Buck is from Greensboro, N.C., and has been a Greenie since the eighth grade. More photos from Sunday’s tournament can be found on the Southern Appalachian Anglers Instagram account (@southernappalachiananglers).
