Good, objective journalism is getting harder and harder to find.

Bob Reid ’65 has been great at it for the better part of five decades.

The Christ School alumnus is the new Editor-in-Chief of Stars and Stripes, an American military newspaper and multimedia organization that has operated since 1861. The promotion was announced earlier this month.

Bob has been involved in the news profession for 51 years. He retired from The Associated Press in 2014 after working out of Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Belgium, Austria, Belgium, the Philippines, Germany, and New York.

He had been Senior Managing Editor the past nine years for Stars and Stripes. Bob’s leadership has been critical to the paper transitioning to more of a digital product during that time.

While it is part of the U.S. Defense Department, Stars and Stripes is editorially independent by an act of Congress.

Congratulations, Bob!
