Davidson College basketball has been known to make some noise in the NCAA Tournament.
Christ School alumnus Ben Craig ’18 has put himself into position to experience the sights and sounds of March Madness firsthand by making the Wildcats’ roster for the 2020-21 season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound guard from Montreat, N.C., is listed as a junior.
Ben played one season for the Greenies (2017-18) and was part of a 22-13 team which won the Carolinas Athletic Association championship and reached the NCISAA 3-A state semifinals. Ben said Friday that he did some soul-searching when the COVID-19 pandemic began and realized he missed being part of a team. He then contacted the Davidson coaching staff about trying out for a walk-on spot.
Davidson has appeared in the NCAA Tournament 14 times (eight occasions since 2002) and made a run to the Elite Eight in 2008. This upcoming season will be the 31st for head coach Bob McKillop.
