Basketball Saves Best for Last, Stays Undefeated

CHARLOTTE — Trailing 63-56 and with the fourth quarter winding down rather perilously, Christ School varsity basketball found another gear Saturday.

The Greenies closed out a 67-63 win over the Academy of Central Florida with an 11-0 scoring run to remain undefeated at 6-0.

Scorers for Christ School were Kingston Whitty '26 (21 points), Tyler Jones '26 (18), Micah Goodlow '28 (13), Dacen Petty '26 (five), Will Robinson '26 (four), Hudson Hatch '28 (three), and Skyler Ellis '27 (three).

Kingston, who signed with West Virginia University earlier this week, had 43 total points over two days of the George Lynch Invitational at Myers Park High School. Dacen's mid-range jumper tied Saturday's game; the senior then made a steal and assisted the go-ahead basket with 30 seconds remaining.

Christ School knew it was in for a game after falling behind, 18-16, after the first quarter.

The Greenies do not play again until December 5.
