Confidence can work wonders, from the top to the bottom of a lineup.
No. 9 hitter TK Wright came through Friday in the perfect spot for him – the junior’s third hit and second RBI of the night was a walkoff single in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Greenies beat SouthLake Christian Academy, 5-4, in a game that stretched over three hours at Bourne Field, a combination of extra innings and a lightning delay.
TK was the only Christ School player with multiple hits. A triple off the wall by Henry Tutera ’27 turned into a run scored due to an Eagles’ throwing error. Starting pitcher Garin Gosnell ’28 also had a base hit. The win for the Greenies (3-2) went to reliever Alex Cocklin ’27, the third pitcher of the night for Christ School.
The team travels to Alabama for a Spring Break tournament which starts Monday.
